Predestination never causes arguments, right?

A sermon on Ephesians 1

Last Sunday I got to preach on Ephesians 1. I focused in on verses 3-14, the long run on sentence where Paul uses every church word you can think of. I focused on predestination because in my experience, Christian traditions either completely ignore it because it’s complicated or it becomes the Main Thing.

I trace the idea through the Hebrew Scriptures to show how Paul thought about the idea and how that should shape how we think about it. Namely, how we are adopted/predestined into a new Jesus oriented family that started with Abraham.
